Foreground, a woman in a white and beige patterned sari holds a lit lamp in front of her; beside her, a woman in a maroon sari with a gold border and a rudraksha mala sits cross-legged with a brass lamp in hand. Behind them, women in saffron-orange and rust-coloured robes hold lamps and incense dishes, many wearing rudraksha malas and orange shawls. Scattered flower petals, small brass vessels and oil lamps cover the floor. Several people in the back rows wear white headbands. Readable text in the bottom corner reads Nithyananda Paramashivam, and the image is a people photograph of a devotional lamp-offering ritual.2014-04-04A large seated congregation in a tiled hall at an ashram gathering, with devotees on woven mats and thin rugs. Many people sit cross-legged, some in cream and white garments and others in orange and saffron sarees or shawls, with orange scarves draped over shoulders. Small brass plates on orange mats hold fruit, sweets and lit oil lamps before them, and several women raise their hands in offering. Background figures in white and cream are seated in rows, with a banner and a pink curtain visible at the back. The scene suggests a puja or satsang with lamps and offerings laid out, though no single speaker or dais is clearly shown.2012-04-04September 16 20142014-09-16December 31 20182018-12-31A photograph of a large seated gathering in an ashram hall, with devotees in orange and saffron garments and red shawls.
