A photograph in a cluttered storage room with metal shelving stacked with cardboard boxes, plastic containers and wrapped bundles. In the centre stands a golden-faced deity murti with long black hair, a tall ornate jeweled crown, and a red velvet blouse heavily embellished with gold and jeweled trim, paired with green and gold garments. On the left, a woman in a white top with a dark beaded necklace adjusts the murti's clothing with one hand. On the right, a young girl in white with a green and red beaded necklace reaches toward the figure's arm. Only the two women are physically present, plus a partial head at the lower right edge.

The murti wears an ornate jeweled crown, a red velvet blouse with silver-and-stone embellishment, and a green and pink silk sari with gold zari border and heavy jewelry. Two women in white, one wearing a rudraksha mala, adjust its garments and long black hair. A third woman in a white floral sari with a black beaded mala and forehead markings watches and holds ritual items. Boxes, bags and containers fill the background shelves.2007-10-17October 17 20072007-10-17October 17 20072007-10-17A photograph inside a bare, unfinished hall with cream cinder-block walls and a carpeted floor scattered with wood shavings. Several painted white and multicoloured deity murtis stand against the wall: a female figure in green and pink sari with a gold halo and crown, a taller female figure in red and gold sari with gold jewellery, and a male figure in a gold crown with peacock feathers holding hands in anjali, wearing a green shawl and orange-yellow dhoti. Two people in white t-shirts are at work near the statues: one kneels at the base of the left figure, the other bends over the taller figure's base. Wooden crates and a black covering sit in the background.2007-11-07Photograph of several women in white and cream saris with green, yellow and orange-red borders gathered closely around a richly adorned deity murti in a temple. The central figure wears an orange-gold sari, layered silver necklaces and bangles, and a gold crown, while attendants lean in to adorn or tend it. Some women wear orange or saffron shawls and others yellow dupattas. A silver tray and brass lamps sit on the floor, and a decorated shrine with a gilded figure stands behind. Plausibly a ritual dressing or abhishekam scene, with no visible a person candidate.2010-11-12October 13 20072007-10-13Women in white saris with green, gold or red borders and orange or yellow shawls gather closely around a deity murti dressed in an orange sari with jewelled silver ornaments and a crown. One woman in a green-bordered white sari leans over the figure adjusting its headpiece, a woman in a yellow shawl ties or fixes its ornaments, and a seated woman in a red-bordered sari holds an open tray of silver jewellery and decorations. A man in white dhoti with an orange-red shawl kneels at the right edge beside an ornate gold-framed backdrop. Brass lamps and ritual items surround them.2010-11-12Girls in traditional South Indian dress prepare backstage in a hall with a blue curtain and red-draped table. A girl in the foreground wears a white sari with a red border, a gold crown, and white and orange marigold garlands, holding a red and white cloth bundle. Beside her a girl in a green silk sari adjusts a garment, another in an orange-gold outfit with white jasmine flowers in her hair stands with her back turned, and girls in pink and green saris and a maroon sari look on. Stainless steel vessels sit at the lower left and a loudspeaker stands near the stage.2012-10-24A woman in a white blouse and orange sari with a long black braid stands with her back to the camera, arranging the garments of a deity murti inside a small gilded shrine. The murti wears a deep maroon cloth, gold ornaments and bangles, and a red-and-white wrap. Red and yellow flower garlands drape the shrine's frame, and a jeweled crown-like headpiece sits in the foreground with orange cloth. Blue drapery hangs behind.2011-10-01A woman in a white garment and beaded red-and-brown necklace stands at left, holding a gold hand-shaped object while she attends to a deity murti. The murti has a dark face painted with red and white markings, silver crown and ornaments, and is draped in red cloth with gold borders and a red bodice. A gold metal frame stands behind it. No a person candidate is visible: no figure matches the criteria, and the only person present is the woman attending the deity.2011-10-01October 01 20112011-10-01A close shot of a long-haired man seen from behind and to the side, bare-shouldered, with his hand raised to the face of a large painted deity murti. The murti has orange skin, black-outlined eyes, red lips, a tall black crown decorated with gold and jewelled ornaments, a crescent motif, and layered silver and jewelled necklaces. Green and yellow flower garlands and a gold-framed backdrop surround it, with a colourful floral cloth at the upper left. The man appears to be applying or adjusting makeup or a finishing touch on the murti's mouth, as part of ritual decoration. Only the man is a physical person; the murti is a statue.2007-11-26
