A large old banyan tree dominates the frame, its spreading branches and dense green leaves forming a canopy over a sandy earthen enclosure. Many aerial prop roots hang and cluster around a thick central trunk. Near the base of the trunk a single person in white clothing stands among the roots, and a small patch of orange appears at the lower left edge. Low stone or brick edging surrounds the tree's base. Sunlight filters through the foliage onto the open ground.
