Naked sadhus walk in procession along a dusty road at the Ujjain Simhastha Kumbh Mela, their bodies smeared with ash and decorated with marigold garlands around their necks and waists. In the foreground, a bearded elder with long grey matted hair and a marigold garland walks with his arms at his sides, while others in the group raise their arms in greeting. A metal barrier fence lines the road, with a white banner in Hindi reading Madhya Pradesh Lok Nirman Vibhag and Simhastha 2016 Ujjain. Palm and tree foliage and a bright sky complete the scene.
