A procession of naked ascetics (sadhus) walks along a dusty road at a Kumbh Mela site, many wearing marigold garlands on their necks and shoulders, with orange and yellow marigold strands across their bodies and head wreaths. Several have long white beards and matted or hair-covered heads, and ash-smeared skin. Behind them, a pink-orange temple gateway stands under a banner depicting deities and a river scene, with the inscription in Devanagari reading Shri Panchayati Akhada Mahanirvani. Spectators in saffron and colourful saris line the route, and some hold cameras. Flags in red and white are visible at the right.
