Many people walk and ride motorbikes through the crowd, with yellow auto-rickshaws on the right and a yellow van with Tamil lettering on the left. A white-clad man in a white shirt and dhoti carries a metal tray of offerings, possibly fruit and flower garlands. A woman in a red bandhani sari walks barefoot near the center. Shops, hoardings and a clock tower line both sides of the road under an overcast sky.2006-10-24A busy street scene outside an ornate, painted South Indian temple gateway with a richly sculpted tower of deities and figures above the entrance. In the foreground, a man in a light blue shirt walks toward the camera beside a woman in a bright green saree. Behind them, crowds of devotees move along the street, including men in white dhotis and women in colourful sarees. On the left, a decorated wooden palanquin or ratha-like shrine stands beside a motorbike, with framed portraits displayed nearby. A No Parking sign and a large green tree line the street.2006-10-23January 21 20092009-01-21A crowded street procession in a South Indian town under a long dark canopy strung with a golden circular emblem, lined with banana plants and bamboo poles. Many devotees fill the road: a woman in a pink sari holds a green leaf packet, an older woman in a yellow-orange sari stands center, a girl in a lavender salwar holds a leaf, and men in white dhotis and shirts walk among them. A colourfully painted temple gopuram with sculpted figures rises at right, and a small shrine niche stands beside the road. Some devotees hold up burning lamps or offerings. Scattered visible people number well over twenty.2006-10-24October 24 20062006-10-24November 05 20062006-11-05January 21 20092009-01-21
