Night-time outdoor gathering on bare red earth beneath a temporary canopy with striped purple, pink and teal fabric, decorated with banana leaves and tall poles. Many people stand in a crowd around the shelter; men in white shirts and white dhotis, some kneeling in front, and women and girls in saris and salwar kameez, several girls wearing green school-style tops with long plaits. One man in a khaki-yellow shirt and dark trousers stands at the right edge. A cluster of people, possibly in devotion, faces toward the centre of the shelter where a seated figure is partly hidden by the crowd. Sandals lie on the ground at lower left. No readable signs or text are visible.
