Night outdoor ritual at a Rajapalayam Adheenam inauguration event. Many people, mostly men in white dhotis and white shirts, sit and stand with palms pressed together in namaskar on a reddish-brown earth ground. A woman in a dark green top and a patterned skirt stands at the left edge with hands folded, and several women in dark clothing are seated in the foreground. Behind them a tall banana plant with green bunches stands beside a rope and a blue-banded post, with a man in an orange-trimmed garment and a camera visible among the crowd. Darkness surrounds the scene, lit by a few lights.
