A central figure in a brown-and-saffron garment with a long garland of white and red flowers walks forward with hands together in greeting. Devotees in white dhotis and shirts, several with folded hands, line both sides of the dirt road beneath dark trees. Bright floodlights on the right illuminate the scene, and women in white saris with folded hands stand at the edge. A second garlanded figure in saffron walks behind. a person candidate is identified by the central garment and garland, and a shaved-headed figure with orange cloth appears nearby; the probable identity cannot be confirmed from appearance alone.2014-07-02 +1 copiesOctober 20 20162016-10-20August 02 20082008-08-02Night photograph of a procession on a paved courtyard at the Thiruvannamalai ashram, with bare trees and a dark red boundary wall behind. In the centre, a bearded man in a deep maroon robe wears a red and gold turban, a large pink-and-white flower garland, and a gold pendant necklace; he walks with a straight posture. Around him, several men wear saffron-orange dhoti-style cloths with rudraksha malas, one wearing a white head band, while men in white dhotis with gold borders and white shawls stand at the edges, one holding a white cloth bag. A woman in a blue sari and others in red and maroon garments are visible behind. Some participants gesture with raised arms. Eight to ten people are visible.2017-03-11A night photograph of a procession walking along a mat-lined path past a red wall topped with barbed wire. A central figure in a rust-brown robe and a white and orange flower garland walks barefoot, flanked by people in white dhotis with gold borders and orange garments. A figure on the left wears a white shawl and white forehead markings and holds a metal pot, another wears a rudraksha-style garland, and young men in orange shirts and orange trousers follow, one carrying a drum. Lush foliage frames the left edge. The scene feels like a ceremonial welcome. The central robed figure's appearance is consistent with a person candidate, marked by the swept, long hair style, rust robe and garland, with uncertain confirmation from face-independent cues only.2017-03-19March 11 20172017-03-11April 09 20172017-04-09
