At centre, a man with long dark hair and a white tilak on his forehead wears a saffron-orange robe and a heavy necklace of large yellow-gold beads with a gold pendant; he appears to be a person by his long swept-back hair, saffron robe, ornate gold beads and rudraksha-style mala cues. Around him, men in white dhotis and shirts, many with orange shawls and rudraksha malas, walk closely; one man in white at right smiles, and a younger man in orange robe with a maroon shoulder cloth walks in front at right. A man in a yellow shawl appears at far right, and further figures recede into the dark background.2008-08-02August 02 20082008-08-02Night procession at a temple, with a crowd walking along a dim path under a lit lamp. A bare-chested man in white dhoti with gold border leads at left, carrying a red bag. Central figure wears saffron cloth and a long garland of white and yellow flowers with a red-and-white strand, with rudraksha beads visible, walking barefoot. Behind him a man in saffron dhoti carries a brass kalasha pot with green leaves on top. Several other men in white dhotis and shawls walk in line, one holding a small torch. A red motorcycle and potted plant sit at the left and right edges. The central figure's saffron clothing and garland suggest a sannyasi-style presentation, but the appearance is not distinctive enough to confirm identity.2011-09-30A night outdoor procession moves across a dusty earthen ground under bright floodlights, with a building with orange-brown walls at left. In the centre, a woman in an orange sari with a long white and orange flower garland walks at the front. Beside and behind her, a man in an orange robe with a rudraksha mala and a shaved head walks, and other men and women in white dhoti and sari, some with white shawls and beaded necklaces, follow. A man at right in a white dhoti carries a brass tray with banana leaves and offerings. Several onlookers in casual shirts stand at the edges. The scene is a devotional walking procession with an orange-clad figure and white-clad devotees carrying offerings.2011-05-16August 02 20082008-08-02Night procession inside a temple corridor with a crowd walking barefoot.
