Photograph of a red-carpeted garden path under a leafy tree at dusk. A man in a saffron-orange robe with a long swept-back hairstyle and a rudraksha-beaded necklace walks at the centre, wearing a thick garland of pink, white and multicoloured flowers and carrying a flower-decorated garland at the hem. Beside him on the left, a shaved-headed priest in saffron cloth with a shawl carries a tray of offerings. Behind them, several men in white kurtas and dhotis, some wearing rudraksha malas, follow along the carpet.2014-07-01May 29 20152015-05-29A night procession on a dirt ground, with a row of people in orange and white walking along a striped woven mat. In the centre, a bearded man in a rust-brown robe wears a long white and orange flower garland and walks barefoot, appearing to be a person by his garland and saffron-toned robe, though his face and cues are not fully clear. Beside him, a man in a white dhoti with gold border and a shawl walks, and several men in orange shirts and red-orange dhotis, some with rudraksha malas, follow. On the right, drummers in orange clothing play large drums. Dark trees and a shed form the background.2017-03-19February 13 20182018-02-13Night procession on a dirt path lined with a red carpet, with a long-haired man in a blue kurta and black trousers walking at left. Centre, a man with long hair and a dark brown-maroon shawl and a white flower garland walks behind a golden-handled parasol with multicoloured fringe, held by a man in orange-saffron garments. Behind him another man in orange and a bare-chested man in orange cloth with a rudraksha mala walk along the carpet. At right, a bare-chested young man in orange wrap and rudraksha beads. Coloured lights and flowering bougainvillea decorate the background, with a man in a white dhoti and shirt at centre-right. The scene reads as a formal procession.2018-01-14December 31 20152015-12-31October 30 20162016-10-30Night procession on a dark road lined with trees and a bright light at right. At centre, a man in a red-and-orange saffron-toned robe with gold borders and a red head wrap walks barefoot, wearing a long red-and-white flower garland and a rudraksha-style mala. Ahead, several young men in similar orange-red cloth lead the way, and scattered flower petals cover the road. Behind, men in white dhotis and shirts play a long brass horn (nagaswaram-style wind instrument) and a drum, while an elderly man in white holds a cloth bundle.2014-07-01Night procession along a red carpet lit by overhead lamps. Two saffron-robed sadhus walk in the centre, each wearing a garland; the one nearer the camera has an orange head covering and a white-and-orange flower garland, and the other has a white-bearded face with a white garland. Behind them a man in white holds a lit oil lamp, and several men in white dhotis and shirts walk in the procession. Ornate gold-and-red ceremonial umbrellas with tasselled edges and a peacock-like emblem frame the scene at left and right, and a white fringed umbrella rises above the centre. A man in white at the right wears a rudraksha-style mala and a beaded necklace. Foreground men in white shirts and white dhotis lead the group; the scene reads as a ceremonial procession.2006-11-24A night photograph of a procession walking along a mat-lined path past a red wall topped with barbed wire. A central figure in a rust-brown robe and a white and orange flower garland walks barefoot, flanked by people in white dhotis with gold borders and orange garments. A figure on the left wears a white shawl and white forehead markings and holds a metal pot, another wears a rudraksha-style garland, and young men in orange shirts and orange trousers follow, one carrying a drum. Lush foliage frames the left edge. The scene feels like a ceremonial welcome. The central robed figure's appearance is consistent with a person candidate, marked by the swept, long hair style, rust robe and garland, with uncertain confirmation from face-independent cues only.2017-03-19March 19 20172017-03-19June 09 20142014-06-09
