March 08 20052005-03-08January 01 20042004-01-01Outdoor photo beneath a large banyan tree with hanging aerial roots and sunlight flaring through the canopy. A bald, bearded man in white dhoti and shawl, with a white sacred thread, holds a silver plate toward a person in saffron-orange robes with a red-edged cloth, whose back is to the camera. Nearby, a woman in an orange and black sari with gold-trimmed borders stands with her back to the camera, and a man in white with glasses and a white shirt stands at left. A young man in white with an orange scarf and identification lanyard stands at right. Children and a few other people are visible in the background near the tree. In the lower right, a green-and-white mat, a glass bowl and red flowers sit on a raised platform. Appearance cues for the saffron-robed figure are limited, so the identity is uncertain.2006-10-21January 01 20052005-01-01July 25 20072007-07-25March 08 20052005-03-08Outdoor photo beneath a huge banyan tree with dense aerial roots. A bald man in an orange saffron dhoti and shawl stands center-right, holding a young girl in a red dress by the wrist while her hands are joined, as a teenage boy in white dhoti with an orange shawl and a name badge watches beside them. A man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands at left in a white kurta with an orange shawl, and other men in white and pale shirts stand or sit around the open ground. A brass plate with a bowl sits on a low stone platform at lower right. Red earth and a low brick wall frame the scene.2008-03-252004 - First Sannyas Deeksha At AdiKailaasa2004-07-02Photograph of a dense crowd at an outdoor festival, apparently the Brahmotsava celebration. In the centre, a person with long, dark, swept-back hair wears a saffron-orange garment and raises an arm. Many people around them wear white clothes, and several children have white paste marks on their foreheads. A woman on the right in an orange sari with white dress and a red bindi smiles broadly, wearing a rudraksha-style necklace. A brass ceremonial lamp or vessel is visible at upper left. Some devotees wear rudraksha malas and bangles. The scene is packed with people pressing close together.2008-12-23Outdoor ceremony beneath a large spreading tree. A man in an orange turban and orange-saffron robe stands with palms pressed together in namaste, wearing a long multicolour garland of yellow, white, pink, red and blue flowers, a rudraksha mala and a gold pendant. Around him sit and stand many devotees in white clothes, some wearing ID lanyards. On the right, a man in a white robe and white turban stands beside a white-draped table holding brass bells and lit oil lamps. Foreground shows dark stone steps and a pool edge with a small oil lamp. Approximately 30 people are visible.2004-01-01A figure in an orange turban and orange draped silk garment pours water from a brass pot over a dark stone deity murti of Dakshinamurti under a leafy banyan tree. A bearded man in a white shirt stands behind on the left, and an older man in a checked shirt is at the left edge. Onlookers sit and stand in the background near a small building and a hanging bell, indicating an outdoor abhishekam or consecration ceremony.2003-04-02 +1 copiesJanuary 01 20092009-01-01
