November 12 20082008-11-12A worshipper seen from behind, with long black hair and a white flower garland around the neck, wearing an orange garment, reaches toward a small deity murti seated on a yellow tiered altar. The altar, decorated with red dots and a finial, sits on a red and black base. Mango leaf strands and red-beaded green cords hang across the wall above, under a blue and red striped cloth canopy. A painted nameboard on the base reads SRI NITHYANANDA. A blurred hand is in the foreground. The scene appears to be a ritual touching of the murti at a small shrine.2008-11-12November 12 20082008-11-12November 12 20082008-11-12A woman in a rust-red blouse and red dress stands with her back to the camera before a small home shrine in a marble-walled alcove. A framed photograph of a figure in orange robes with a rudraksha-style necklace hangs on the wall, garlanded with white jasmine and red flowers, and the figure is not clearly a physical person in the scene. Below it sits a shrine table with red and yellow flowers, oil lamps, a brass plate with turmeric and kumkum, a small bell and a tray of offerings. The woman wears a white jasmine garland, red flowers in her hair and a gold bead necklace.2014-07-07 +1 copiesJuly 04 20142014-07-04 +1 copiesIndoor shrine photo at night. The shrine has a yellow-ochre multi-tiered canopy with pillars, and inside it a dark stone murti of Dakshinamurthy, seated and garlanded with marigolds and green leaves. A framed picture and a small devotional image sit at the base. A man in an orange-saffron robe and glasses stands at right, hands folded in prayer, facing the shrine.
