In the foreground, rows of coconuts wrapped in white jasmine garlands sit atop decorated kalasha pots on a cloth, with plates of flowers and betel leaves. A man at the right in a dark turban, rust-orange robe and long rudraksha mala sits with palms pressed together in namaskar, while a bearded older priest in white with a pink flower tray sits beside him. Pilgrims crowd the stone steps behind them, consistent with a puja or abhishekam at a temple.2018-04-29A seated priest in a blue waist cloth and white dhoti, with a blue head wrap and a beaded gold-coloured necklace, performs puja before a decorated deity murti garlanded with yellow and red flowers. Near him a brass lamp holds a lit oil lamp, and bowls of marigold petals, a silver tray with offerings, and a brass kalasha stand on the floor. Two seated men in white ceremonial dress with flower garlands and gold-coloured shawls sit behind the altar, with a brass lamp stand and a pink cloth at the side.2015-10-18October 29 20112011-10-29A shaved-headed priest in white dhoti with gold border sits cross-legged, eyes closed, holding a pink flower in cupped hands near a gold-bead necklace. White horizontal tilak lines mark his forehead and arms. Behind him, a figure in yellow silk and a red-and-gold border, and red floral garlands at the right edge suggest a temple puja setting.2011-08-08A ritual scene in a temple-style hall at an altar decorated with garlands of white flowers and red-and-yellow marigolds. At the centre, a golden ornate peetha holds a garlanded kalasha pot with a coconut, and a silver tray of flower offerings sits in front. Two people sit cross-legged at the altar: on the left a bare-chested priest with a grey-patterned headcloth and sacred thread garland, his hands raised in gesture; on the right a woman in a purple-and-gold sari with a white dhoti-style skirt, her palms joined in prayer. Behind them are two seated attendants in white dhotis and a large deity figure draped in green cloth and garlands. Brass lamps and rows of stacked offerings, including sweets, line the foreground.2015-10-18
