March 12 20202020-03-12A dry, rocky outdoor site with a shallow basin of cracked earth and exposed stone, bordered by a low dry-stone wall running across the background. Scrubby green trees and bushes frame the scene on both sides, with pale sunlit ground in the centre and scattered boulders and dry grass in the foreground. No people, ritual objects or readable signage are visible.2007-05-09November 19 20082008-11-19A photograph of an outdoor construction site where a large rectangular pit with stepped concrete-block walls is being excavated and prepared for a foundation. Several workers stand on the earthen edges and inside the muddy base; one woman in a green skirt and dark top stands at the left edge, while a man in a white shirt and shorts pours or carries material with a bucket, and women in saris and head cloths stand near the pit. Scattered rubble, piled dirt, a green tree, and utility poles fill the flat, dusty landscape.2008-11-19A photograph of a shallow, roughly circular pond with calm green-brown water reflecting surrounding trees. Dry rocky stone-lined edges frame the pond, and a small stone staircase descends to the water at the far bank beside a white pillar or shrine. Dense leafy trees and scrubby dry ground fill the background. A single small figure stands near the steps at the water's edge, and no other people are visible.Outdoor construction site photograph showing a large black granite Shivalinga on a white-and-grey square plinth, surrounded by tiered stone steps being laid into an excavated sunken area. Several workers in light clothing, including one in white dhoti-style garment and others in saris, are clearing mud and carrying materials near shallow puddles. Dirt mounds, scattered stone, a few trees, low buildings and power lines form the background under an overcast sky. The linga is a deity murti, not a person, and no a person candidate is visible in the frame.2008-11-19A photograph of a dark, water-filled rock-cut well or pit with mossy stone walls, surrounded by green shrubs and grass. A black hose tied with green cord runs along stone blocks at the lower left, and a few small stones edge the water. No people or deity forms are visible; the scene shows only the natural pit, vegetation and hose.2021-09-171978 - Tiruvannamalai - InnerGirivalaA large outdoor construction site with a tall grey stone Shiva linga standing on a square pedestal in the middle of a water-filled excavated pit. Stepped stone walls line the sides of the pit, and workers in dark clothing move around the edges and on the banks. Dirt mounds, piled stones and scattered building materials surround the site, with trees and a boundary wall in the background under an overcast sky. Several workers are visible at the pit's edge and on the far bank, and one worker in orange clothing stands near the base of the linga.2008-10-26A photograph of an outdoor construction site where a large stone Shivling is being built on a square plinth in the middle of a rectangular excavated pond. The pond has tiered brick-lined steps along its far edges and still water reflecting the trees. Loose grey boulders and reddish earth surround the pond, and low roofed buildings and trees stand in the background. Two workers in light clothing are visible on the far steps, and a small blue object sits at the plinth. Offerings of yellow flowers or marigolds lie at the base of the linga. The scene shows construction in progress rather than a ceremony.2008-10-26November 16 20062006-11-16Photo 11743371 +1 copies
