A photograph of an excavated construction site with pale sandy soil and piles of broken granite blocks. In the centre, a rectangular stone-lined pit holds dark standing water, with cut granite slabs arranged along its edges. Beige rock rises on the left and a loose coiled hose lies across the foreground. A small red flag is visible at the upper right edge. No people are visible in the scene.2014-11-23Photograph looking down into a square brick-lined pit or foundation excavation at a construction site. The brick walls are grey and weathered with lighter mortar patches, and the floor is loose sandy earth in shadow. The pit rim is whitewashed concrete, and a white tarpaulin or sack lies at the lower edge. No people are visible; the image shows ground-level construction work at the aadheenam.2006-12-12Outdoor photo of a square brick-lined fire pit sunk into a concrete platform, with scattered yellow flower petals on the ground. Two men stand at its edge. The man on the left wears a white kurta and white dhoti with an orange-yellow shawl over his shoulder, arms folded and gazing into the pit. The man on the right wears a long saffron-orange robe draped over one shoulder and has long dark curly hair, standing barefoot and looking down into the pit. Behind them is a mound of reddish earth and dense green trees and shrubs. A small purple emblem with a white bird appears in the upper left corner.2006-11-22A photograph of an excavated square pit dug into reddish-brown earth on open ground. The pit has clean vertical walls and a small amount of muddy water pooled at its base. Loose soil and clumps of dirt are piled around the rim, and patches of green grass grow along the edges. No people or ritual activity are visible.2006-12-10A photograph of an excavated construction site with a muddy pit containing a small concrete structure with a flat roof, bordered by brick-lined edges and scattered stones and pipes. Along the top of the far embankment, a line of about twenty people in white clothing stands and walks at the edge of the dug ground under a clear sky with trees in the background. The foreground shows exposed red soil and standing water.2008-06-20A small square concrete structure under construction, with grey plastered walls, a tiled roof edge and loose bricks laid along its top and base, stands on red earth. Bamboo or timber poles with lashed cross-beams frame it, and palm trees and green foliage rise behind. Stacked bricks, rebar and a pile of cut timber lie nearby. No people are visible.2006-12-12A close photograph of a freshly dug circular pit in reddish-brown laterite soil, with scattered small gravel stones and loose clods. A pale grey concrete block sits at the upper edge of the excavation, and a few dry grass stems lie on the ground. A small purple logo appears in the upper-left corner. No people are visible; the scene is an outdoor earthwork or foundation dig.2016-09-15A photograph of an outdoor construction site where a large rectangular pit with stepped concrete-block walls is being excavated and prepared for a foundation. Several workers stand on the earthen edges and inside the muddy base; one woman in a green skirt and dark top stands at the left edge, while a man in a white shirt and shorts pours or carries material with a bucket, and women in saris and head cloths stand near the pit. Scattered rubble, piled dirt, a green tree, and utility poles fill the flat, dusty landscape.2008-11-19April 2008 - Making Of Kailaasa In TiruvannamalaiOutdoor excavation site with a shallow stone-lined pit of cut granite blocks holding dark standing water. Exposed reddish-brown earth walls, loose sand and rubble piles surround it, and a stacked pile of broken stones sits behind. Black hoses and a pipe run across the foreground stones. No people or ritual activity are visible.2014-11-23Looking straight down into a deep, circular stone well or shaft. The inner walls are pale, mottled and stained with dark brown and greenish streaks, curving inward toward the bottom. At the base a small pool of water reflects light, with scattered debris and small floating fragments on its surface. No people, ritual activity or readable signage are visible, and the surrounding area is out of frame.2009-07-13A wide outdoor photograph of a large excavation site at a construction area under a partly cloudy sky. In the foreground a rectangular concrete structure with wooden formwork sits in a muddy pit, with puddles, scattered planks and debris around it. Along both rims of the trench, and standing on the far embankment, a large crowd of people dressed entirely in white clothing gathers and watches the work. Trees, a utility pole and distant hills frame the background.2008-06-20
