Photograph of a tall copper dhwaja (flagstaff) rising diagonally against a pale blue sky, its top fitted with a carved copper finial and a green-and-white leafy bundle. Ropes run up the pole for hoisting. Lower on the pole, a tiered copper base carries carved figures, decorated with fern and dry grass bundles and garlands. A saffron-orange flag hangs beside the pole with a white cloth tied at its base, marking a flag-hoisting ceremony at the temple. Three people stand at the lower edge of the frame: a man in white on the left, a bare-backed man in an orange cloth with long dark hair in the centre, and a man in an orange shawl with a rudraksha mala on the right, all looking upward at the pole.

Low-angle photo of a tall copper-coloured flagstaff, wrapped in bands and decorated with garlands of white flowers at its base, topped with a red and gold finial and strung with multicoloured bunting lines radiating to the sky. A figure in an orange-red robe with a rudraksha mala on the right holds a long white cloth flag, pulling it up along the pole against a blue sky with wispy clouds and palm fronds. The scene suggests a flag-hoisting rite during a festival.

Low-angle photo of a tall copper-clad ritual pole rising against a pale sky, its top decorated with a small shrine-like finial and flowers. Near its base a carved stone shrine with garlands of white and red flowers, and a bundle of dried grass and green leaves is tied around the pole. A man in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, wearing a red and white flower garland and gold bangles, stretches one arm high to grasp a rope attached to the pole. Coconut palm fronds and a corrugated roof edge with yellow ribbons frame the scene.

Photograph looking upward at a tall copper dhwaja kambam (flagstaff) rising against a clear blue sky, its ringed copper body topped by a carved finial and a small orange pennant. The base of the pole is wrapped in white jasmine garlands with red flowers, fronds of palm leaves and a yellow marigold. Tall coconut palms stand beside it. At right, a person in a dark garment decorated with white and red garlands pulls on ropes that guide the pole, one arm raised. No readable text is visible on the pole itself.
