A photograph of a man in an orange saffron wrap, bare-shouldered, with long dark swept-back hair, pouring liquid from a white wire-caged glass vessel onto the thick aerial roots and trunk of a large banyan tree. He is smiling and leaning in with his right hand on the trunk. Sandy ground and tree canopy surround him, and a partially visible person in white stands at the right edge.2006-12-23December 23 20062006-12-23December 30 20062006-12-30 +1 copiesJanuary 09 20192019-01-09February 14 20072007-02-14Night photograph of a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots and a thick trunk, set on a bare sandy ground. The figure, bent forward with head lowered, wears a flowing saffron-orange robe that drapes over one shoulder, and long dark hair. Two white and red flower garlands hang against the trunk at the base of the tree, with a faint kolam or design on the sandy ground. The setting appears to be an outdoor temple grove at dusk, with bare branches and thin trees in the background.2006-12-23September 02 20112011-09-02February 25th 20072007-02-25January 09 20192019-01-09A figure in an orange saffron garment with a gold border stands at the left edge, seen from behind with long dark hair falling loose, one arm reaching to rest a hand against a thick grey banyan tree trunk. Massive aerial roots and multiple trunks of the banyan fill the frame, with blurred reddish-orange hanging strands in the foreground. Pale sky and green foliage appear through the upper left. The figure's face is not visible.2011-08-19A photograph of a person in an orange saffron dhoti and shawl with maroon borders, bare-backed, standing barefoot and pressed against the massive trunk of a banyan tree with dense aerial roots. The figure wears a rudraksha mala around the neck and leans forward with hands on the bark. At the base of the tree is a small stone shrine recess with a dark opening, set on a sandy ground with stone platforms nearby. The figure's face is not visible, so identity cannot be determined from appearance.2011-02-11
