The person, with hair tied back, leans in with head bowed and hands folded in front, appearing to pray or offer reverence at the tree shrine. Sandy ground, a small white structure and other trees are visible in the background. Only one person is present.2008-01-05A photograph of a person in an orange saffron dhoti and shawl with maroon borders, bare-backed, standing barefoot and pressed against the massive trunk of a banyan tree with dense aerial roots. The figure wears a rudraksha mala around the neck and leans forward with hands on the bark. At the base of the tree is a small stone shrine recess with a dark opening, set on a sandy ground with stone platforms nearby. The figure's face is not visible, so identity cannot be determined from appearance.2011-02-11A photograph of a single person standing barefoot on a dark stone floor, seen from behind, in front of a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots. The person wears an orange-saffron robe draped over one shoulder and orange loose trousers, with a dark beaded necklace and dark hair tied back. Before the tree is a dark niche at the base of the trunk with a small flame or lamp glowing inside, and a low stone bench and raised stone platform surround it. Warm sunlight and tree shadows fall across the scene.2011-02-12A photograph of a man in an orange saffron wrap, bare-shouldered, with long dark swept-back hair, pouring liquid from a white wire-caged glass vessel onto the thick aerial roots and trunk of a large banyan tree. He is smiling and leaning in with his right hand on the trunk. Sandy ground and tree canopy surround him, and a partially visible person in white stands at the right edge.2006-12-23A photograph of a large banyan tree with many aerial roots and spreading branches over a bare, sandy ground. A figure in orange robes with a white flower garland stands at left, extending an arm upward toward the branches and appearing to sprinkle or offer something. A small red bag and a low stone border sit on the ground near the trunk, with a dark hollow at the base of the tree. The person appears to be a devotee or ritual practitioner; the appearance is not clear enough to identify anyone.2006-12-30March 02 20112011-03-02February 25th 20072007-02-25A person seen from behind stands on a dark polished floor before a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots. They wear an orange dhoti and shawl with maroon borders, a rudraksha mala at the neck, and hair in a bun, hands folded in prayer. In front of the tree is a small dark cave opening with a blue sign reading DO NOT ENTER THE CAVE, a small oil lamp glowing inside, and a low stone bench nearby. The clothing is saffron-orange with maroon trim and the person is barefoot.2011-01-22A photograph of a standing man in full orange-saffron robes, draped over one shoulder and wrapped around the body, with a long rudraksha mala of dark seeds hanging around his neck and a red tilak on his forehead. He holds a wooden staff or pestle-like stick resting against his shoulder and smiles upward. He stands on a stone ledge in front of massive gnarled tree roots that wrap over ancient grey stone walls. Wearing orange sandals, he is the only person visible.2007-07-03
