Many sit before banana leaves set with small offerings, cups and fruit. At the far end, a figure in red sits on an ornate gold throne with a gold canopy, flanked by standing attendants in white. A striped woven runner lies down the aisle. Framed portraits hang on the side walls, and a photo collage is mounted at right. Participants fold their hands in prayer. An attendee wearing a white robe stands near the throne, and the scene is a seated assembly before a throne. The image is a photo of the gathering, with the seated figure on the throne appearing as a candidate whose identity cannot be confirmed from appearance alone.2017-09-19Photograph of a long white hall where many people sit on the floor in rows eating a communal meal served on green banana-leaf plates, with small cups of water placed along the leaves. Many seated men wear saffron-orange robes and orange or white cloths; others wear white shirts, blue shirts and white dhotis. Several attendants in white and light blue shirts walk between the rows serving food. At the far end, a decorated altar with an ornate peetha and a deity murti stands in front of a painted backdrop. Hanging orange and colourful tassel decorations line the ceiling, and a white cloth canopy is strung across the upper space. Brass cups and small leaf plates with food are set on the floor in front of them. Further back, men in white and orange clothing sit among rows of devotees, and a green-clad figure appears in a painting on the left wall. In the foreground, a few shaved-headed young men in saffron robes sit closely together. A video camera on a tripod and stage lighting are visible at the front, with a backdrop image of a hill at the far end. No individual is clearly identifiable as the a person in this crowd view, and the speaker's position is not visible enough to confirm.2008-03-24A large dining hall with rows of long tables where many men in white dhotis and shirts are seated eating from banana-leaf-style plates and steel tumblers. A woman with long dark hair in an orange saree and beaded necklace walks between the tables serving, and a man in a bright yellow t-shirt carries items past the diners. Ceiling fans, fluorescent lights and a pale wall frame the room, with a framed picture on the back wall. The scene suggests a communal meal at a retreat event.2005-11-24May 25 20132013-05-25
