December 20 20172017-12-20A homa fire burns on a stepped altar of red-orange brick at night. Bright orange flames rise from a small fire pit on top, with wood pieces burning and smoke drifting upward. Brass or steel vessels, a ladle and dried straw bundles sit in the foreground. Behind the altar stands a tall ritual frame with stacked brass disc-shaped ornaments and a copper-toned vessel, with a red cloth visible at left. No people are visible in the frame; the darkened background suggests an evening ritual setting.2017-12-20December 20 20172017-12-20November 10 20112011-11-10Close-up photograph of a homa fire burning in a brick-lined fire pit, with tall orange flames rising from wood.
