A photograph of a homa fire burning on a square fire pit built from yellow-brown bricks, with tall orange flames rising from the centre. White rice-like grains and scattered flower petals, some red and pink, cover the bricks around the fire. A hand holding a brass bowl of liquid, a brass vessel, appears at the left edge, and a blurred figure in a purple and red garment is visible in the background. No people are clearly identifiable; the visible hands and clothing belong to a partially shown participant in the homa.

A photograph of a homa fire burning inside a square fire pit built from stacked yellow turmeric-coloured bricks, with a red kumkum mark on the brick corners. Flames rise from the centre. Behind it, a person in an orange dhoti with a maroon border sits cross-legged, with hands visible near the fire and a small spoon or ladle in one hand. To the right stand a silver kalasha-style vessel and a metal dish of yellow liquid on the left. The setting suggests a ritual fire ceremony. No face is visible, so no identity is asserted.

Close view of a fire ritual at a brick-lined homa pit with a blazing wood fire. A hand in a bangle-wearing wrist holds a long silver ladle pouring liquid into the flames, and a silver bowl of orange liquid sits beside the pit. The brick altar is marked with white and red kumkum-style dots, with red and yellow flower petals and a bowl of flowers nearby. A person in red cloth sits behind, but no face is visible; no a person candidate is shown, so the people count reflects only partially visible hands and clothing.

A photograph of a brick fire pit (homa kunda) built from stacked orange-brown bricks, with bright flames rising from a central fire. A metal ladle or spoon rests on the edge, and brass and steel vessels with offerings sit to the right, including a bowl of grains. A red-maroon cloth and a patterned cloth drape the edges. No people are visible; the scene shows a homa or yagna fire ritual in progress.

A fire ritual at a brick homa altar. A flame rises from a stack of yellow bricks dusted with white ash, with marigold petals and green leaves scattered on top. A person in a white garment with a gold border pours or throws grains from a silver bowl with a long-handled ladle, grains flying through the air. Silver vessels, a silver kalasha-style pot, a silver spouted ladle and small cups sit in front of the altar. A red wall and a carved wooden door are behind. A person in white dhoti stands at the right edge and a bare arm with a red thread and bangles is visible at left. No swami is visible.

A homa fire burns on a stepped altar of red-orange brick at night. Bright orange flames rise from a small fire pit on top, with wood pieces burning and smoke drifting upward. Brass or steel vessels, a ladle and dried straw bundles sit in the foreground. Behind the altar stands a tall ritual frame with stacked brass disc-shaped ornaments and a copper-toned vessel, with a red cloth visible at left. No people are visible in the frame; the darkened background suggests an evening ritual setting.
