The lingam is draped with an orange silk cloth and garlanded with long white, yellow, green, pink and blue flower strands, with pink roses and green leaves placed on top and a sprig of greenery and purple flowers at the middle. A bronze vessel and a small lamp stand sit at the right, and a blue draped backdrop with a dark metal arched frame appears behind. Scattered petals and leaves lie on the cloth.2003-03-01 +1 copiesA photograph inside a temple sanctum at a Shiva lingam with a brass base and a brass pot-shaped abhishekam vessel above it. Marigolds, pink and red flower petals and green leaves surround the black lingam, which is wrapped with a red thread. Behind the metal railing, a seated person in red robes and a gold-and-white flower garland sits with hands folded, while people in orange and saffron robes and rudraksha malas, one holding a small brass plate, sit nearby. A man in white dhoti and a woman in an orange sari also stand close. The scene reads as a temple abhishekam or puja.2016-06-03A seated man in saffron-orange robes with a white ash mark on his arm sits before a large golden deity murti adorned with yellow and red flower garlands. In front of the murti, a small white-robed figure in saffron cloth with a saffron head wrap, a statue, sits on a white-draped platform, with a mound of green leaves, brass bowls, lemons, pomegranates and flower petals arranged before it. Ornate gold lamp stands flank the scene, and a gilded tray heaped with yellow and red flowers rests to the right. The setting appears to be a temple abhishekam ritual.2010-07-21Close-up photograph of a gilded linga-shaped sacred object (lingam) on a golden base, dressed with garlands of yellow marigolds and red roses and surrounded by green leaves. Above it stands a gold cobra-hood canopy with a row of gold hanging ornaments, and a tall brass oil lamp stands at the left against a red drape. Behind it, a figure in a gold-and-white silk garment with a jewelled necklace is partly visible at the right edge. No people are clearly shown in the foreground; the sacred object is the main subject.2010-07-13Inside a temple sanctum, a man in a saffron-orange dhoti and reddish-brown shawl with a rudraksha-style mala and white floral garland stands over a golden circular lingam platform. He pours water from a brass kalasha pot onto the central shivalinga, an abhishekam. Around the railing, devotees in white, yellow and orange-trimmed clothes press close, some holding brass vessels and a steel tray of currency notes. Marigold petals and leaves rest on the platform.2016-06-03June 03 20162016-06-03December 20 20172017-12-20June 03 20162016-06-03August 19 20132013-08-19May 27 20132013-05-27A photograph of an abhishekam at a Shiva lingam inside a temple sanctum.
