Two rectangular red clay bricks sit side by side, each partly covered with white and yellow chrysanthemum-type flowers, with red and yellow powder (kumkum/turmeric-like) sprinkled on them. A slender metal rod or pole stands upright between the bricks, its base fitted into a small metal socket. Loose white and yellow flowers, dry grass stalks and white, yellow, red and green powder designs lie scattered around the bricks. No people are visible.2010-12-16Close outdoor view of two rust-red clay bricks set on reddish-brown earth. Each brick has a cluster of white and yellow chrysanthemum-type flowers placed on top. A metal rod or staff stands upright between the bricks. Turmeric-yellow and red kumkum powder and white rangoli-like lines are scattered on the ground around them, with more loose yellow and white flowers at the base. No people are visible; the scene looks like a small ritual arrangement prepared on the ground.2010-12-16Close-up photograph of rough-cut stone blocks stacked on the ground outdoors. At top left, the lower legs and orange sari hem of a standing person are visible, but no face is shown. Foreground shows several rough concrete blocks with orange-painted edges, decorated with scattered flower petals and marigold-like yellow blossoms in pink, red and yellow. A split white coconut lies on the ground beside a larger grey stone block, with coconut husk fibres visible. Loose rubble and pebbles surround the scene. The arrangement suggests a ritual bhoomi or foundation-laying offering of coconut and flowers.2016-09-15 +1 copiesDecember 16 20102010-12-16
