Outdoor photograph of a large black stone Shivalinga on a raised platform with a golden kirtimukha-crowned throne in front. A man in saffron and red-orange robes, with a turban, a long beaded mala, and a white flower garland, sits on the golden throne with a trident beside him; the sitter's identity is uncertain from appearance alone. Around the base, about eight people in orange and white ritual clothing sit on a striped multicolored cloth. A man with a bare torso stands at the left edge near a brass pot. Behind the platform are a tiered red-and-white stepped amphitheater with rows of small lamps and red building facades with flags, a water tank and trees.2017-07-03A large black Shivalingam stands on a grey stone yoni-pitha base in an open courtyard, decorated with a garland of marigolds and three horizontal white tripundra stripes on its face. In front, a man seated on a gold ornate throne with a cobra-hood backrest wears a red-and-maroon robe, a rudraksha mala and a flower garland, and holds a trident beside him, as devotees sit on a striped cloth platform. Several women in orange and red saris and white clothes sit in attendance, some with hands joined in namaskar. Red-brick buildings, flagpoles and a red-and-white arrangement of seats frame the scene, with a watermarked archive copyright notice in the corner. This appears to be a Shiva ritual, possibly a Rudrabhishekam or pada puja, with the seated figure in ceremonial dress.2017-07-03November 11 20162016-11-11 +1 copiesPhotograph of a large black stone Shiva lingam with three horizontal white bands and a silver disc, draped with a garland of marigolds, red and yellow flowers, standing on a dark stone yoni-pitha base. Three shaved, bare-chested men in saffron-orange dhotis stand on a metal scaffold at the top of the lingam, one working on it. Below, a seated statue in a gold-framed throne with a tiger-skin cloth and red cushions depicts a figure with a pink turban and rudraksha garland, a depiction rather than a physical person. Several saffron-clad attendants move about the base beside gold arches, and a striped cloth covers the platform. A red multi-storey building stands behind.2017-07-31June 26 20172017-06-26October 22 20142014-10-22 +1 copiesJuly 03 20172017-07-03November 27 20162016-11-27 +1 copiesNovember 11 20162016-11-11 +1 copiesA large dark stone Shiva lingam stands on a circular black stone base at the centre of an outdoor amphitheatre-style abhishekam setting, decorated with a red and yellow marigold garland. Tiered red-brick steps behind it are filled with many white-clad devotees seated in rows, with small brass lamps or vessels set on the steps. On a raised platform at the upper left, a figure in white dhoti and shawl sits with a rudraksha-style garland among several saffron-robed men in orange cloth. Water runs down the lingam, consistent with rudra abhishekam. A plain white wall with a window forms the backdrop, and a standing figure in orange cloth is at the upper right.2017-05-29A photograph of an outdoor temple-like stage at dusk with a large black stone Shiva lingam draped in a multicolour flower garland, set on a black pedestal. In front, a seated figure in red and saffron robes with a rudraksha mala and a white flower garland sits on an ornate gold throne with a cobra-hood canopy, flanked by a trident. Around the throne, people in white dhotis and orange or red garments sit on a striped cloth, some with hands joined in prayer. Golden arches, red-tiled balconies, flags and a red-brick building form the background. Roughly ten to twelve people are visible.2017-06-26A large black polished linga stands on a black yoni-pitha base with gold-coloured garlands and gold ornamental drapes in red, yellow and green tones hanging from its base. A tall grey-railed metal staircase rises beside it to a platform where a man in an orange-saffron robe stands at the top, holding a ritual object near the linga. Several men in white dhotis and bare-chested white clothing, some shaved-headed, climb or sit on the red stone steps, one with hands joined in prayer, others holding brass vessels. A cloudy grey sky and green tree sit behind. This appears to be an abhishekam ritual at the linga.2010-10-22 +1 copies
