A priest in a maroon dhoti and maroon shawl with golden borders, a maroon turban, and white sacred ash marks on his arms and chest stands at left with his hands held together, offering or tending a tiered altar. The altar is decorated with white jasmine garlands, red flowers, green leaves, and orange, green and blue cloth. Carved lions and a seven-hooded serpent form its base, and a seated figure with a white beard and a red-and-gold loincloth sits on the upper tier. A deity murti stands atop the tiers. Small brass oil lamps sit on the base. At right, a bright screen or lit area shows figures in red and green.
