Outdoor scene on a sandy path in front of a green garden with palm trees and a low wall. Five men in plain white ritual clothing stand around a bamboo pole and banana leaves laid on a blue tarpaulin. Several wear rudraksha malas and pendants. Two men in front talk and gesture, while another stands at right with a hand near his face. No saffron robes, crowns or throne are visible, so no candidate for the teacher is clearly present.2009-09-25Outdoor preparation at an ashram courtyard: four men in plain white ritual clothing stand on a sandy path near a blue tarp covered with banana leaves. Kneeling in white with a yellow shawl at the lower left is a devotee with a brass lamp and offerings. Four men in white dhotis and white kurtas with yellow shawls stand to the right holding brass plates of flowers, fruit and lamps. Plastic white chairs and a bamboo fence sit in the background. Beside him a younger man in white holds up a large embroidered cloth with a pale, floral-patterned design. Further back, a woman in a white sari and another man in white walk toward the trees and a palm-lined garden.May 04 20072007-05-04 +2 copiesOutdoor scene at a village-style compound with whitewashed walls and banana plants decorated with flower garlands. On the left, a man with long swept-back dark hair wears an orange saffron garment and a white flower garland, and holds a rope tied to a tall reddish pole. Beside him, a man in white ritual clothes with a rudraksha mala grips the rope with another person in white. Several men in white shirts and dhotis stand around, and one older man in white with a pendant watches on the right. The setting suggests a flagpole raising or inauguration ceremony. Based on the orange-robed man's appearance with long hair and saffron garment, he is a person candidate, shown in person.2008-07-29Outdoor photo on a dirt path beside dense green shrubs and palm trees. Three men in plain white clothing stand in a loose group; one in the centre wears a white dhoti with a white shawl bordered in red, holds a small metal vessel and gestures toward a long bamboo pole that a man on the right is steadying. Fallen bamboo stalks lie on the ground. The shaven-headed man in the centre shows no clear cues of the a person candidate such as long hair, saffron clothing, or rudraksha mala, so the identity is uncertain; he is described by role only as a man in white ritual dress.2006-08-20Outdoor scene on bare sandy ground with palm trees, tall trees, a concrete block wall and a utility pole behind.
