A long-haired man in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala and a large white-and-red flower garland stands under a red parasol with fringed tassels, receiving a yellow-and-red flower garland offered by a younger saffron-robed attendant with shell-bead necklaces. A bearded attendant in saffron robes holds a silver vessel with mango leaves and yellow flowers. In the foreground, a man in white kneels and bows. A silver car with its headlights visible sits behind them, decorated with flower garlands.2008-12-25May 09 20162016-05-09April 22 20162016-04-22Photograph of a group of young devotees in saffron-orange cloths wrapped over their shoulders and waists, several with white stripes painted on their arms and foreheads. In the foreground a girl with long dark hair and a red pendant holds yellow prasad or offering mixture in both hands, while others around her hold up similar yellow offerings. Behind them a bare-chested young man with long hair and white forehead markings stands among the group, and a blurred yellow-walled building appears in the background.2017-07-03Outdoor group photo at a Kumbh Mela camp beside a corrugated metal wall, with marigold-garlanded wooden poles behind. Eight men in ochre and saffron robes stand together. A long-haired man in the centre wears a brown-orange robe with a gold-edged border, layered rudraksha malas, a gold necklace, and a forehead tilak, and he smiles with hands clasped; this is a probable Swamiji (probable) by appearance cues: long swept-back hair, ornate gold necklace and rudraksha malas. To his left, an elderly bearded sadhu wears a red shawl, a pink-white pearl mala and a turban; to his right, a bald bespectacled man in orange wears a rudraksha mala. Other men wear orange turbans and beads, and one on the far left has white painted face markings.2013-02-15 +1 copiesNaked sadhus walk in procession along a dusty road at the Ujjain Simhastha Kumbh Mela, their bodies smeared with ash and decorated with marigold garlands around their necks and waists. In the foreground, a bearded elder with long grey matted hair and a marigold garland walks with his arms at his sides, while others in the group raise their arms in greeting. A metal barrier fence lines the road, with a white banner in Hindi reading Madhya Pradesh Lok Nirman Vibhag and Simhastha 2016 Ujjain. Palm and tree foliage and a bright sky complete the scene. Roughly a dozen people are visible.2016-04-22May 09th 20162016-05-09February 08 20172017-02-08 +1 copiesOctober 17 20102010-10-17
