Outdoor photo at a ceremonial inauguration site. A priest in saffron-orange robes with a shaved head and a flower garland holds a flaming lamp or camphor flame over a decorated altar. The altar is draped in teal cloth and covered with white flower garlands, and it holds a black plaque with a framed portrait and printed text. Behind it is a large decorated arch with a bright yellow and orange circular backdrop, with brass oil lamps on the right. Three devotees stand to the right with palms pressed together in namaskar: one in white with an orange shawl, one in white, and one in an orange sari-style garment. The scene reads as a puja or arati ceremony.2006-11-12November 12 2006 Salem Aadheenam Inauguration2006-11-12August 17 20072007-08-17 +2 copiesSeptember 11 20102010-09-11August 17 20072007-08-17 +2 copiesApril 27 20122012-04-27 +1 copiesOutdoor fire ritual under a tent at a homa pit lined with marigolds and white and pink flower garlands. A man in saffron and orange robes with a matching turban and a white-and-multicolour garland holds a metal vessel of burning fire over the pit. Beside him a young man in orange and white robes holds a lit lamp, and a second young man in white and orange stands nearby. Several women in white and saffron stand and sit behind them, watching. The scene suggests a fire ritual with offerings.2006-11-12 +1 copiesNovember 18 20062006-11-18Outdoor ritual procession under a colourful multi-panelled ceremonial parasol held aloft by a standing attendant in orange robes. In the foreground, devotees in saffron-orange clothing stand with hands pressed together in prayer beside a small table holding a brass kalasha-style vessel, a plate of offerings and a lit oil lamp. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts stand in the background, some with hands folded, near a decorated gateway with ornate arches. Overcast sky, dusty open ground, and a few onlookers in the lower left. The visible scene shows an offering being made with an oil lamp, but no clearly distinguishable a person figure is identifiable from appearance.2008-05-19September 11 20102010-09-11August 17 20072007-08-17 +2 copiesNovember 12 2006 Salem Aadheenam Inauguration2006-11-12
