The central man has long swept-back dark hair, a red bindi, a dark rudraksha mala and a saffron-orange shawl and robe, and he walks with his hands held at his waist. The man on the left, bald and bare-chested, wears a white dhoti and a white shawl. The man on the right, shaved-headed, wears an orange dhoti and shawl with a beaded mala and a pendant. A framed text panel and a portrait with printed captions hang on the wall behind them, and a broom is visible at the right edge.2010-10-17A photograph of a procession walking down a red carpet inside a decorated hall. A man with long, swept-back dark hair and a white-and-red tilak on his forehead wears an orange saffron shawl and dhoti edged with gold, a heavy gold necklace with a large pendant, and an ornate gold armband; he smiles and walks forward with a bare-footed stride. Behind him a younger man in matching orange robes and gold-bordered cloth carries a silver vessel with flowers and a garland. Other attendants in white dhotis with sacred ash markings walk behind, and a golden staff with a tall finial stands at left. Overhead are palm-leaf decorations, marigold garlands, and colourful tasselled fabric, with spectators at the right edge. Elaborate garlands and ceremonial objects suggest a temple or festival procession.2011-03-02A procession inside a covered, open-sided hall with a corrugated metal roof and a concrete floor. In the foreground, a man in saffron-orange robes carries a brass vessel garlanded with white and yellow flowers and topped with green leaves. Beside him, a bearded man in white robes walks with palms pressed together in namaste. A third man with long hair and a full beard, in orange robes, walks on the right. Behind them a larger group of people in white and yellow-scarfed clothing follows. Colourful painted striped pillars stand along the walls, a gilded animal figure with a red base is at the right edge, and framed photographs and text panels hang on the walls.2009-10-15A photograph of a procession inside a covered hall with a corrugated roof. In the centre, a smiling figure in saffron-orange robes, a white and orange head cloth, and long garlands of red, white and orange flowers stands with palms pressed together in namaste. Behind him, a bearded man in orange robes holds a tall golden staff topped with a trident, and another orange-robed attendant stands nearby. A red and yellow ceremonial parasol with tassels rises at left. Devotees in white and dark clothes line a metal railing, and a boy in white clothes walks in the background. Along the back wall hang framed photographs and a band of printed text, with garlanded golden statues including a golden bull and a golden peetha-style seat near the right. Two white T-shirts hang on the wall above.2008-12-29A procession inside a hall with a red carpet runner and metal railings. In the foreground a man in saffron-orange robes with a matching saffron shawl, a gold-beaded necklace and rudraksha-style mala, a tilak on his forehead and long swept-back hair walks forward with his hands held together in greeting. Behind him, devotees in white dhotis, some with yellow or gold-bordered cloth, follow, and several men in orange robes with gold necklaces walk alongside. Colourful ceremonial umbrellas and decorated banners with blue-and-red emblems are carried overhead. An orange wall and a wall of framed photographs and posters are behind them.2010-12-27A procession inside a covered hall with a metal roof and hanging decorative strands. In the centre, a man in saffron robes and a purple flower garland, with a gold necklace and rudraksha mala, walks with hands folded in front of him. Beside him, a man in saffron dhoti and shawl holds a tall gold trident (trishul) upright. Behind them a canopy with red, yellow and green tassels is visible. On the left, a man in white dhoti and shirt with a rudraksha mala stands with palms pressed together in namaskar. On the right, a man in white clothes and orange shawl with a rudraksha mala walks along a red-carpeted path beside a metal railing, with more devotees in white and orange behind.2008-12-31Photograph of a procession inside a hall with metal railings. In the foreground a man with long dark hair, white tripundra marks on his forehead and a red dot, wears a red shawl draped over his shoulder and a heavy gold bead necklace; he is the most prominent figure and appears to be a probable Swamiji by his long hair, gold necklace and red attire. Behind him, a monk in saffron robes with a gold necklace and a second saffron-clad man with marked forehead and arms stand beside him. Further back, men in white dhotis and a figure holding a tall umbrella-style ceremonial staff with red and gold pennants are visible. On the right wall, a pillar with a decorative red and yellow design and a framed group photo and a bird logo are visible, with a yellow ceremonial banner nearby.2010-12-22A procession inside a covered hall with a corrugated metal roof and orange-painted walls. In the centre, a man with long swept-back dark hair, a red bindi and a long orange robe wears a gold-beaded garland and gold armlets, walking forward with a smile. Two cues of appearance are distinctive here (long swept-back hair and saffron robe with ornate gold necklace), so he is a probable Swamiji candidate. To his left, an older man in a red flower garland, rudraksha beads and an orange robe holds a golden trident (trishul). Other saffron-robed men and a man in white dhoti and shawl stand around. Behind them hang painted decorative banners and colourful striped poles with floral motifs. At the centre, a man in an orange-red shawl and dhoti, wearing a gold crown and a gold pendant on a beaded necklace, walks forward smiling; the visible cues are the crown, the saffron-coloured clothing and the ornate gold necklace, so he is a probable Swamiji. Around him, men in saffron-orange robes wear rudraksha malas, and a man in white dhoti with gold border and a red-beaded mala walks at left. Yellow and green hanging lamps frame the passage, and a wire mesh grille lines the right side. Overall this is a temple procession among devotees and sannyasis.2012-05-07
