2001 - Glimpses From Various Programs2001-01-01November 07 20002000-11-07November 07 20002000-11-07Photograph of a homa fire ritual in a dim temple hall. A square fire pit lined with white and orange-striped blocks holds a flame, with dried sticks scattered around it. A man in an orange-saffron shawl with white tripundra marks on his forehead sits at the front, extending his right hand over the fire and holding a long ritual stick. Beside him, a bare-chested priest with a white dhoti and a sacred thread sits near the pit. Bare-chested devotees with white beaded necklaces sit in the foreground with their backs to the camera. Behind them, a standing man in white clothes watches. On the right, a deity shrine is decorated with pink and white flower garlands and framed by a gold-toned ornate arch, with a blue cloth draped over a platform, a brass lamp and a fruit offering plate nearby.2000-11-07November 07 20002000-11-07A photograph of a kalasha-based abhishekam-style ritual inside a temple hall with brick walls and strings of white flowers overhead. At centre, a large golden peetha holds a kalasha-like vessel and a painted deity face with a yellow face, red kumkum and white garland, flanked by two coconuts wrapped in pink flower garlands and surrounded by pink and white lotuses. A blue cloth drapes the base. Four men in white dhotis stand around it: one on the left with a bare chest and white sacred thread, one in white shirt and dhoti at centre-right holding a garland, and one at right in a pink-and-white cloth with white vibhuti on his forehead, holding a flower. Brass oil lamps with flames stand on either side, and a seated man is partly visible at the back.2000-11-07April 05 20122012-04-05 +1 copiesApril 05 20122012-04-05A photograph of an outdoor ritual on a concrete floor under a shaded open structure. Opposite him, a man in a checked shirt and a seated companion hold a coconut and a white wooden implement over the offerings. Around them a line of men in white dhotis and shirts stand with hands folded, and a young boy in a blue shirt and shorts stands among them. A boy in a dark top sits at lower right. A hide mat and a cable lie on the ground.2000-11-07April 05 20122012-04-05September 19 20122012-09-19December 24 20122012-12-24
