Under a multicolored canopy with embroidered panels, a figure in orange and white walks at the centre of the group. Musicians lead the procession: a drummer in an orange shirt and dhoti plays a drum slung at his waist, a man in a yellow shirt and red-and-white cloth plays a long wind instrument, and a man in a white shirt with a red-and-orange rudraksha-style mala and an ID badge plays a long horn-like pipe. Other men wear white kurtas and dhotis, some with orange shawls, and a man with a white forehead band plays a flute-like instrument. A red-and-white barrier runs along the left edge of the road.2005-01-01A photograph of a procession on a dirt road lined with palm trees, with a thatched hut and low buildings in the background. Several men lead the group playing drums: on the left a man in a blue checked shirt and white dhoti carries a drum with a red strap, another in white plays a drum, a man in a white shirt with a black strap plays a large brass-rimmed drum, and a man at right in a white shirt and beaded mala necklace stands near it. Behind them, people in white clothes follow, and several colourful umbrella-style canopies or ornamental poles with orange, red and green tops rise above the crowd. The sunlight is bright and the scene is outdoors in daylight.2006-12-29A photograph of a street procession on a dirt road lined with banana plants and a low fence. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts play hand drums and a cymbal-like percussion instrument. The foreground drummer wears a white shirt and dhoti with a shawl over his shoulder and plays a large drum. Behind them, a man in a pink-and-white striped shirt and yellow lungi plays a drum, and a man in a blue shirt and white dhoti plays cymbals. Orange saffron flags stand in the background, and a few other people in white walk along the road.2010-01-01
