Night ritual scene under a corrugated metal roof. A person with long dark hair, wearing an orange saffron garment, a gold-and-beaded garland and a red forehead mark, sits on an ornate gold-and-red throne beside a fire pit. A priest in white dhoti and shawl with gold borders stands at right, pouring liquid from a metal vessel into the fire pit where flames glow. A second priest in white sits cross-legged in front, and a gold offering bowl rests on the ground. Several seated devotees in white and orange watch from behind the throne.

Seated on ornate gold thrones with maroon cushions are two men: on the left an older man in saffron-orange cloth with a gold-beaded mala and a forehead mark, and in the centre a smiling figure with long dark hair, orange robe, gold-beaded rudraksha-style mala and a bindi, who could be a person based on the long swept hair, saffron garments, ornate gold necklace and throne cues. A priest in white dhoti with gold border pours an offering from a vessel at the top right. A seated priest in white cloth faces the fire pit in the foreground, where a homa fire burns on a raised platform with a small oil lamp and brass bowl nearby. Yellow flower garlands and a green-and-red cloth lie at the left edge.2012-04-24A smoky outdoor ritual at night. Two seated figures sit on ornate gold thrones: on the left, a bare-chested elder with a rudraksha mala, gold pendant and shawl; in the centre, a long-haired man in saffron-orange robes with a marigold garland, hands held together near a flame. Probable Swamiji (appearance cues: long swept-back hair, saffron clothing, rudraksha-style garland, seated on a throne). In the foreground, a shaven-headed priest in white dhoti and shawl sits facing a fire pit, tending the flames with offerings. A brass plate sits at the lower edge, and a printed banner behind the thrones reads partly 'Nithya' and 'Bidadi'. Two women in the background watch from beside a parked car.2012-04-24Night-time ritual photograph under a dark roof structure with a fire pit in the foreground. A man with long swept-back dark hair, wearing an orange-red saffron wrap, a long gold-beaded necklace and malas, sits on an ornate gold throne with red upholstery, smiling with hands resting on the armrests. Beside him, a second seated man in orange-brown robes, shaved-headed with a red tilak, wears a layered mala and gold chain and also sits on a gold throne. In front, a priest in white dhoti bends toward the flames while another person in white clothes sits cross-legged near a brass bowl. A seated man on a red and gold throne wears orange robes, a rudraksha mala and a gold necklace, with hands folded in front of him; he has long dark hair, a distinctive appearance cue, so this is a probable Swamiji in person. A standing priest in white dhoti and shawl with maroon borders holds a brass vessel and pours offerings toward a fire pit with a flame and brass implements. Seated devotees in white and grey watch, and a wall map is behind them.2012-04-23
