Mango leaves and a yellow-wrapped coconut crown the pot's mouth. Behind it, yellow and purple flower garlands hang against a rust-coloured cloth. No people are visible. A kalasha setup like this is typical of puja preparations.2011-12-09January 12 20092009-01-12May 21 20122012-05-21 +1 copiesDecember 20 20102010-12-20December 21 20112011-12-21Night photograph of a dwajarohana flag-hoisting ceremony. A tall copper flagstaff with a wheat-sheaf and green leaf bundle at its base is raised upward, with a cloud of colourful petals and confetti falling from its top. Two people pull a white rope: a figure in a yellow-green sari-style garment stretches arms high, and a person in a saffron-orange wrap with gold border stands beside them. Yellow and pink marigold garlands drape the carved copper base. Palm fronds and orange triangular pennants appear against the dark blue sky under a white roof.2010-12-20A close photograph of a homa or yagna fire at left with bright flames and rising smoke beside a metal vessel. At centre a kalasha-like vessel wrapped in yellow marigold garlands and red roses sits on a dark stone platform scattered with white rice or petals. A priest standing behind wears white dhoti with a striped multicoloured border and a gold waist ornament, and his hands are visible reaching toward the offering.2018-01-06October 15 20102010-10-15January 06 20182018-01-06Close-up photograph of a ritual offering on a brass plate set on dry grass.
