March 02 20132013-03-02 +1 copiesMarch 02 20132013-03-02 +1 copiesA photograph of a long-haired man in an orange saffron dhoti and shawl, wearing layered red and white flower garlands and gold beaded necklaces, standing on a red-cushioned step beside a richly decorated golden palanquin or ratha. The palanquin is draped with marigold and yellow flower garlands and hung with colourful tassels, bells and a multicoloured canopy overhead. Around him, men in white dhotis hold a long pole and a red umbrella, and another man in orange robes kneels nearby. The man in orange appears to be a person by his long hair, saffron attire and ceremonial garlands, shown in a procession setting. Bright daylight and a clear sky frame the scene.2012-01-01July 22 20132013-07-22February 21 20162016-02-21Outdoor procession at dusk on a dirt road beside a red brick wall. In the foreground a man with long dark swept-back hair, a white forehead mark, a red garland and a gold-patterned orange shawl over an orange robe walks with his eyes lowered; the appearance cues are distinctive, so he is a probable Swamiji candidate in the procession. Behind him men in orange and white dhotis carry a long red-draped pole with a trident-like staff and a drummer plays. On the left a golden ratha or palanquin with garlands and colourful tassels stands beside a tractor and a wooden cart. Several other people in white and orange robes walk behind, with a camera operator among them.2013-03-02May 08 20162016-05-08 +1 copiesMay 27 20132013-05-27Night procession on a sandy open ground lit by golden illuminated temple structures and a golden statue in the background. A man in a maroon robe with a long pink-and-white flower garland, gold necklace and white forehead tilak walks under a large ornate multicoloured umbrella, holding a silver staff. Beside him a bare-chested man in white dhoti with a silver necklace walks, and a man in orange robe with rudraksha mala follows. To the right, a line of devotees in orange robes, some with rudraksha malas and body markings, and women in saris stand with hands together. A green vehicle is parked behind. The scene suggests a procession with ceremonial umbrella and staff.2017-02-09December 23 20162016-12-23February 21 20162016-02-21January 24 20162016-01-24
