March 26 20132013-03-26Evening ritual under a corrugated roof at an open-air ashram hall. A man stands beside a red and gold throne, wearing an orange-red dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala, holding a lit oil lamp in one hand and a small bell in the other. Before him a square fire pit with a flame is surrounded by brass vessels and offering plates. Around it, devotees in white and orange-red shawls sit on mats with palms pressed together, and a bald man in orange robes kneels at the front. Hanging red hoops and a dim evening setting frame the scene. Appearance is not enough to name the standing man, so he is described by role only.2013-03-26April 24 20132013-04-24A homa fire burns in a rectangular fire pit at dusk in an open-air courtyard with plain pale walls.
