A man stands beside a red and gold throne, wearing an orange-red dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala, holding a lit oil lamp in one hand and a small bell in the other. Before him a square fire pit with a flame is surrounded by brass vessels and offering plates. Around it, devotees in white and orange-red shawls sit on mats with palms pressed together, and a bald man in orange robes kneels at the front. Hanging red hoops and a dim evening setting frame the scene. Appearance is not enough to name the standing man, so he is described by role only.2013-03-26April 24 20132013-04-24January 02 20162016-01-02 +1 copiesMarch 28 20132013-03-28Night outdoor homa at an ashram: a fire burns in a rectangular wooden-framed fire pit in the foreground, with red flower petals scattered around it. On the right, a man in a maroon-red robe and matching dhoti, wearing a beaded rudraksha-style necklace, walks barefoot carrying a silver plate of white offerings and petals toward a gold-and-red throne-like chair. A woman in a white garment with gold borders and a white head covering stands at left with palms pressed together, facing the fire. Behind, a woman in maroon clothing and other devotees stand near a table draped in red with brass kalasha pots decorated with mango leaves, a purple cloth and a garland. A standing fan and a small fire on the ground are also visible. Several people are visible.2013-11-19A photograph of a night-time outdoor gathering beside a red throne with gold trim and an orange seat cushion. To the left, a shaved-headed attendant in orange-red robes with a mala also holds his hands together. Seated on the right, several men in white kurtas and white clothing, some with red shawls and foreheads marked, sit with palms joined in devotion, among potted plants and a dark wall.2013-03-26December 31 20112011-12-31Evening ritual outdoors at a garden shrine. A man in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala and a gold pendant sits upright on an ornate red throne with gold trim and a gold crown finial, centred and gazing forward. Beside him, a man in saffron cloth kneels on the right, and a woman in a yellow sari stands in the background. In the foreground, a priest with a shaved head and white dhoti with red border sits with his back to the camera, facing a low stone platform laden with brass bowls, a lamp, flowers, fruit, coconut and banana leaves. Palms and flowering shrubs surround the scene at night. The seated figure on the throne has distinctive rudraksha and saffron cues, and the page identifies him as a person, so this is an appearance-based probable identification.2012-04-23December 20 20132013-12-20
