A devotee in orange-red robes and a shawl stands at the right, gripping the rope that hauls the flag up the pole while looking upward. Several onlookers in white and red stand at the lower left, and another attendant in orange is partly visible at the right edge. This appears to be a flag-hoisting ceremony.2011-07-15December 23 20082008-12-23October 03 20162016-10-03October 03 20162016-10-03July 15 20112011-07-15A tall copper flagstaff rises from a bronze-bordered base hung with white jasmine garlands, with a red-orange flag being hoisted on ropes. A devotee in saffron-orange robes pulls the rope high overhead while another figure in orange holds the line at right. Coconut palms, a corrugated roof edge and a cloudy sky frame the scene, and onlookers stand at the left edge. The setting suggests a flag-hoisting ritual at a temple courtyard.2011-07-15January 11 20162016-01-11
