A shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and shawl sits cross-legged beside a fire pit, holding a handheld bell and a lit oil lamp on a long silver-stand. He wears a heavy gold necklace with a pendant and a bangle on his wrist, with a white vertical forehead mark. Brass bowls with yellow flower petals and a bundle of dried sticks sit on a stone ledge in front of him, with smoke rising from the fire. In front of him are silver puja bowls and a bowl of white flowers, with a gold-carved panel at the left edge and a red-and-white striped temple wall behind. The figure is an appearance-based ordinary priest, not a person candidate, since the cues are only white ritual clothes and no distinctive identifiers.2010-09-08A photograph of a shaved-headed man in white ritual dhoti and shawl with gold borders, seated cross-legged on a wooden platform in a courtyard. Before him is a small tray with a lit oil lamp, incense sticks, a metal kalasha-style vessel, and a brass tray holding a silver lamp stand. Red flower petals are scattered on the floor and in a metal bowl. Smoke rises from the incense on the right, and a green bundle of grass lies nearby. Another person in white clothing is partly visible in the background doorway.2011-12-01Photograph of two shaved-headed priests in white dhoti and shawls with gold borders seated cross-legged on the floor during a puja. The foreground priest wears a rudraksha mala and a wristwatch and reaches toward a brass bell, a brass lamp and small brass plates of yellow flowers, a white cloth and offerings laid on an orange cloth.
