November 25 20132013-11-25A young shaven-headed sannyasi in saffron-orange robes with a pink sash and rudraksha mala stands at left, arms stretched forward, placing a white object onto the raised hands of a large black stone murti of Kalabhairava with a circular halo-like arch, a trident, and multiple arms. The stone deity wears a necklace and a crown-like headdress. Behind is a red-washed building wall with a barred window, and a partially visible second orange-robed figure stands at the lower left edge.2013-11-25A priest in an orange saffron dhoti and wrap stands at left wearing a gold-coloured beaded necklace, holding a brass oil lamp aloft with a flame toward a large black stone deity murti at right. The murti has a crown, a kumkum mark and large ornate jewellery, and its raised hand holds a small brass bell. Green foliage and a carved silver arch frame the scene, with a brass bell at lower left. This appears to be an aarti offering at a shrine.2011-12-28Outdoor photo at a large dark stone base or pedestal carved with lotus-petal patterns. A bare-chested man with a shaved head and white vertical tilak on his forehead, wearing a red-brown dhoti and a rudraksha mala, touches the forehead of a gold-coloured metal deity murti standing on the base. The murti wears an ornate crown, an orange and gold sari-like garment and a shawl. A second man with a shaved head, seen from behind in orange cloth with a sacred thread, stands at left. The setting suggests a ritual anointing or adornment rite.2016-10-31A man in an orange turban and orange dhoti-style wrap, bare-chested, stands at left placing a gold ornament and gold-beaded chain onto a large dark stone deity murti with carved armour and jewellery. A red rudraksha-style mala hangs over the murti's shoulder with a gold pendant. Behind is a thatched palm-leaf roof, a brass vessel, and a ritual table with lamps.2004-06-10A photograph of a large black stone statue of a multi-armed deity, identified by its flaming crown and trident, standing inside a circular halo-like arch. A young shaved-headed sannyasi in saffron-orange robes with a red sash stands at left, touching the statue's arm with one hand while holding a small object, with a tilak on his forehead and rudraksha-style bracelet on his wrist. The outdoor setting has a red-painted wall and metal grille behind the statue, with green foliage. The statue is a deity murti, not a live person, and the sannyasi is a devotee performing a puja-like act.2013-11-25A shaved-headed priest in a bare-chested ritual posture, wearing orange and yellow dhoti and cloth and a rudraksha mala, stands at left offering flowers and leaves from a brass bowl. At right stands a gold-coloured deity murti of a female form with a tall crown, orange and gold garment, and a pink flower at her waist, holding a small object in her raised hand. Behind them is a large dark stone pedestal with carved lotus-petal patterns and a red brick wall at the edge. Ritual puja offering scene at an outdoor temple.2016-10-31August 08 20142014-08-08December 28 20112011-12-28A man in an orange saffron cloth stands at the left, bare-shouldered, with long dark swept-back hair and white ash markings on his forehead and arm. He leans in and applies a white paste or tilak to a large black stone deity murti at right, which wears a red and yellow marigold garland and a red cloth on its crown, with a gold tilak on its forehead. Behind the murti hang deep red velvet drapes and a gold-framed arch. Swamiji (probable): the figure shows long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and white ash markings, consistent with the page's reference to Swamiji. He is performing abhishekam-style anointing of the deity.2007-11-09December 28 20112011-12-28A photograph of a shaven-headed priest with a white vertical tilak on his forehead and rudraksha beads around his neck performing puja before a gilded deity murti. The priest is bare-chested with a saffron-and-gold striped cloth wrapped over one shoulder and an orange dhoti, holding a small brass bowl of leaves and flowers in one hand and a red flower in the other. The standing golden murti wears an orange and gold silk garment, a crown-like headdress with a green leaf, a pink flower garland, and holds a small object in one raised hand. Behind them is a large dark stone base with carved curved grooves and a brick wall at the right edge.2016-10-31 +1 copies
