August 04 20162016-08-04A photograph of a group of devotees standing with palms pressed together in anjali mudra during a ritual gathering indoors. Most wear orange and maroon dhoti-style garments with gold-bordered cloth, and several have white vertical tilak marks on their foreheads. Rudraksha malas hang around many necks. A man in white dhoti and shirt with a red-bead mala and a gold-bordered cloth stands in the front left, and a man in maroon and gold cloth with a rudraksha mala stands centre front, both with hands folded. Brass lamps and offering items are visible on a table at the lower edge, and a wall with framed pictures and a colourful display stands behind.2014-08-27 +1 copiesSeptember 21 20132013-09-21April 03 20132013-04-03September 13 20142014-09-13April 03 20132013-04-03A photograph of a ritual scene with several saffron-robed figures in an indoor hall. A bald man with a long rudraksha mala and orange shawl stands at centre, handing yellow flower petals to a young boy in orange robes with white forehead marking. Other boys in orange and red-bordered cloth hold marigold petals, and a woman in an orange sari stands at right, with a cameraman behind. The moment suggests a puja offering of flower petals. Red curtains and a white-covered table appear in the background.2013-05-20 +1 copiesIndoor evening photo of a devotional gathering with a row of people with palms pressed together in namaste. Many young boys and some adults wear saffron-orange cloth, while a central young man in white dhoti with a gold-bordered cloth and a black headdress stands with hands folded and a rudraksha-style bead necklace. In the right foreground, a figure with long black hair wrapped in a red-orange garment and a garland of pink and red flowers faces the group with back partly turned. Nearby stand a tall brass lamp stand and a brass oil lamp, with a trident-topped ritual staff at the right edge. Pale stone pillars and a beige wall form the background.2018-05-22A photo inside a hall with pale pink walls, wall-mounted air conditioners and a row of standing devotees in saffron and orange robes with red-and-gold borders, palms pressed together in prayer. Several men and boys stand on a woven mat before small silver puja trays holding brass plates, bowls, flowers and lamps. The boys wear white forehead markings and some wear rudraksha malas. Behind them stand people in white dhotis, and on the right a brass horn is visible. No single figure in the rows is distinctly identifiable as a person by the visible cues, so no in-person candidate is claimed. Roughly a dozen or more people are visible, including partial figures at the edges.2013-08-12April 03 20132013-04-03October 05 20172017-10-05A photograph of a crowded indoor hall during a procession or ritual gathering. In the foreground, a young bare-chested boy with shoulder-length dark hair and a white beaded necklace walks beside a child. Several young men in saffron-orange dhoti-style garments with gold borders move through the crowd, including one with a shaved head and a red tilak on the forehead smiling in an orange cloth, and another with long dark hair and an orange wrap. A man in white ritual clothing with a grey beard walks among them, and a bare-chested youth wears a sacred thread. Framed pictures hang on the pale peach walls, and recessed ceiling lights illuminate the room.2016-10-09
