A silhouetted figure in the foreground holds a flaming torch or lamp aloft at the right edge of the front panel, the flame bright orange. Through the opening, a small table with a flower arrangement and a gilded ornate seat or throne stand against the green set, with garland decoration along the arch. The person in the foreground is dark and faceless, so no identity can be read from the figure.2010-08-08A photograph of a man seen from behind, shaved-headed, wearing saffron-orange draped robes with a maroon border and a gold chain necklace, carrying a silver multi-branched lamp with five lit flames in his right hand. He stands before a deep maroon velvet curtain, flanked by turquoise and yellow painted panels with pink and green floral motifs. The figure is an unidentified priest or devotee performing an aarti-style lamp offering; no visible cues establish a person candidate, so the identity remains unsure.2012-04-21A photograph on a stage in front of deep red velvet curtains. A figure seen from behind wears an orange-red turban and orange cloth draped over the shoulder, with long dark hair down the back. Raised in the right hand is a brass aarti lamp with several lit flames, and the left hand holds a brass bell. The figure stands before a striped blue, red and green cloth draped over a low platform. At the left edge, another lamp flame is visible held by a partly cut-off person. Ritual aarti performed on stage.2017-08-12A photograph of a man seen from behind in an indoor hall with pink walls and maroon curtains. He wears an orange saffron cloth draped over his shoulder and wrapped at the waist, a dark rudraksha mala at his neck, and has a shaved head with a small topknot. He holds a brass multi-tiered aarti lamp with many lit oil lamps, a ritual act of worship. Two framed notice boards hang on the wall behind him and a wooden door is visible below. Appearance-based a person cues include the saffron clothing and rudraksha mala, but the head and face are not clearly distinctive, so identity is uncertain.2017-01-22November 11 20102010-11-11
