The kneeling devotee extends both hands toward the seated man in a gesture of reverence. Behind them a younger person in white with a garland of yellow and orange flowers reaches forward, and other people in orange and white stand in the background. Marigold and rose petals cover the floor near the throne, and a silver bowl sits at the lower edge.A devotee in a white dhoti and shirt kneels on a striped mat and bows his head to touch the feet of a seated figure on a red-cushioned golden throne. The seated figure wears an orange robe and a red and white flower garland and has long dark hair; the throne has a gold lion-armrest and is decorated with marigold and jasmine garlands. Standing behind them are several men in white kurtas with orange shawls, one holding a red-wrapped object and a yellow flower garland, and an older man in a light shirt with folded hands. The roof is corrugated metal with a tent-like canopy. The seated figure is a candidate for a person by appearance cues of long hair, orange clothing and a flower garland, with the throne and feet-honouring ritual as role context.2006-12-30August 09 20152015-08-09A photograph of a ceremonial scene in an interior hall with red-and-cream walls and a lattice window. A seated figure on an ornate carved wooden throne with red velvet backing wears an orange saffron-coloured robe and orange turban, with a white shawl draped over the shoulder, and is adorned with white and yellow flower garlands. A bearded man in white kurta and dhoti stands before him, placing his hands on the seated figure's head in a blessing. Another man in white clothing stands at left. Pink flower petals and offering trays with red flowers and small bowls sit on the floor, along with a brass bowl on a side table, and the throne is decorated with pink and white garlands. The scene resembles a padapuja-style honouring ceremony.2003-07-13A photograph of a padapuja ritual in an outdoor courtyard with an orange cloth floor. A figure in orange robes with long dark wavy hair, a long beaded necklace of gold-coloured beads and an orange shawl sits on a raised orange-draped seat, smiling and holding flower petals. A man in white clothes bends forward to touch the seated figure's bare feet, which rest on a pink-and-gold cloth and marigold garlands. Behind them, several men in white kurtas wear marigold garlands and orange shawls, with hands folded in greeting, and a woman in a yellow sari stands nearby. A brass bowl of petals and lemons sits on a wooden stand at left, with brass lamps and a shrine behind.2010-07-24February 24 20072007-02-24
