July 13 20032003-07-13A photograph of a ceremonial scene in an interior hall with red-and-cream walls and a lattice window. A seated figure on an ornate carved wooden throne with red velvet backing wears an orange saffron-coloured robe and orange turban, with a white shawl draped over the shoulder, and is adorned with white and yellow flower garlands. A bearded man in white kurta and dhoti stands before him, placing his hands on the seated figure's head in a blessing. Another man in white clothing stands at left. Pink flower petals and offering trays with red flowers and small bowls sit on the floor, along with a brass bowl on a side table, and the throne is decorated with pink and white garlands. The scene resembles a padapuja-style honouring ceremony.2003-07-13Photograph of an indoor ceremony in a hall with a green curtain behind an ornate carved wooden throne with lion-head armrests and maroon cushions, draped with pink and white flower garlands. A seated figure in an orange-saffron robe and orange head wrap, with a green leafy garland and white flower garlands, receives honour as a standing man in white clothes places a yellow bead garland around his neck. Two women in white saris stand behind on the left. In front are silver bowls of flowers, fruit, rice and offerings, a red-cushioned footstool, and a brass lamp on a side table. The garland-placing man is clearly a devotee or priest, and the seated figure shows swept-back hair, orange robes and an orange wrap, but the appearance is not conclusive enough to confirm a person identity.2003-07-13A seated man in an orange robe and orange turban sits on an ornate carved wooden throne with a red velvet back, draped in long garlands of yellow marigolds, white flowers and green leaves, with pink and white flower garlands hung across the throne's carved arch. Lion-shaped carvings flank the seat. A man in white clothes with his hands pressed together and a pink flower bunch offers respect at the left, while another person in white stands at the right edge, and a dark green curtain hangs behind. The setting is an indoor hall with a lattice window.2003-07-13July 13 20032003-07-13July 13 20032003-07-13A photograph of a seated figure on an ornate gold throne draped with red cushions and a garland of yellow, orange and purple flowers. The figure wears an orange robe and a white and orange flower garland, with bare feet resting on a gold footstool strewn with pink petals. A man in white ritual clothes and a red-beaded necklace kneels before him with palms joined, while another man extends a hand toward him. To the right, two women in green and red saris kneel beside a silver plate of yellow flowers and a kalasha-style brass vessel. A low table on the left holds red boxes and fruit. Gold curtains form the backdrop. The seated figure shows distinctive saffron-clad ceremonial cues and is an appearance-based probable candidate for a person, shown in person in the scene.2009-08-16A photograph of a seated figure on an ornate carved wooden throne draped with white and pink garlands, wearing an orange turban, orange cloth and a beaded necklace with a flower garland. A kneeling man in white clothes, seen from behind, bows toward the throne near a brass vessel and a rising haze of incense smoke on the floor. A white-draped pillar with blue and gold tinsel stands at right, and a small table with brass items and a potted plant sits beside the throne. Lattice window at upper left. The seated figure's appearance is uncertain, so no identity is asserted.2003-07-13Photograph of a seated figure on an ornate carved wooden throne with a red-and-gold arched backdrop decorated with white jasmine garlands and pink flower strings, set before green drapes. The seated person wears an orange turban, orange robes, a yellow-orange rudraksha mala and a white flower garland, and is being honoured. A devotee in a red-and-gold patterned shawl kneels on a rug before the throne, with offering trays of kumkum, turmeric, flower petals and small oil lamps arranged on the floor. A standing attendant in white clothes stands at left holding a green leafy garland, and another man in white stands at the back, while a person in a white and blue bordered shawl is at right edge. Padapuja worship is shown in a hall setting.2003-07-13A photograph of a padapuja ritual in an outdoor courtyard with an orange cloth floor. A figure in orange robes with long dark wavy hair, a long beaded necklace of gold-coloured beads and an orange shawl sits on a raised orange-draped seat, smiling and holding flower petals. A man in white clothes bends forward to touch the seated figure's bare feet, which rest on a pink-and-gold cloth and marigold garlands. Behind them, several men in white kurtas wear marigold garlands and orange shawls, with hands folded in greeting, and a woman in a yellow sari stands nearby. A brass bowl of petals and lemons sits on a wooden stand at left, with brass lamps and a shrine behind.2010-07-24June 27 20102010-06-27December 27 20062006-12-27
