In the foreground a woman in orange robes and a rudraksha mala sits with palms pressed together in namaskar, while a girl in orange with a sandalwood mark on her forehead holds a lit oil lamp. Other women in orange, maroon and white saris hold lamps and brass vessels, and small silver trays with flowers and offerings sit on the floor. Behind them many more devotees, some in white, sit in rows, and a few stand near the back. No person is clearly a person; the scene shows devotees performing aarti with oil lamps.

The scene suggests a padapuja-style group ritual, though the photograph itself shows only the offering trays and seated devotees. Several dozen people are visible.
