A procession of saffron-robed sannyasis and devotees walks across a courtyard floor decorated with colourful kolam designs. A central figure in an orange robe with a long gold-striped border and a heavy white-and-orange flower garland leads the group, smiling, with a white-painted forehead. Behind them, a multicoloured canopy umbrella with tasselled edges and a red-and-gold emblem shades the walk, while other saffron-clad men with white forehead markings and rudraksha malas follow. One man at left holds a silver plate and a small brass vessel. Devotees in white dhotis and orange shawls stand at the sides, with palm trees and a brick wall behind. Several saffron-clad figures carry small ceremonial fans, and the group moves toward a raised platform.2013-02-28February 28 20132013-02-28 +1 copiesFebruary 16 20132013-02-16November 29 20112011-11-29April 30 20132013-04-30February 28 20132013-02-28Night procession at an open-sided pavilion with a corrugated metal roof, lit by overhead lamps and surrounded by potted plants and banana leaves. Several saffron-robed sannyasis, some with shaved heads and white markings, walk in a line; the foremost man wears a red-and-orange-patterned cloth, gold necklaces and a red-and-white flower garland. Behind him a white ornate parasol is carried, and musicians play long brass horns and drums while attendants bear ceremonial staffs and gold-tipped poles. Women in orange saris and white-clad devotees line the sides. A red velvet throne with gold legs stands empty on the right, and the floor bears painted star patterns. A photographer on the left takes pictures. Apparently a procession of sannyasis honouring the empty throne, with no visible candidate for a person in the walking line. Approximately thirty-five people visible.2013-07-22December 20 20092009-12-20February 23 20152015-02-23January 01 20112011-01-01Outdoor procession at a temple courtyard with a large colourful deity murti on the right draped in cloth.
