December 29 20102010-12-29A prostrate devotee lies flat on the stone floor of an open pavilion, arms outstretched, head turned to one side, on a leopard-print and dark mat. The prone figure wears saffron-orange garments with gold trim, a gold ornament on the head, and dark hair in a bun. Around them stand a crowd of about twenty people in saffron and white: sannyasis in orange robes and rudraksha malas, men in white dhotis and shawls, and women in orange and blue saris, several with palms pressed together in namaskar. A man holds a bunch of flowers and another stands with a phone raised. Pillars and a sunlit roof edge frame the scene, a traditional ritual of reverence performed before a gathering.2012-09-12November 27 20062006-11-27A photograph of a temple courtyard where a devotee lies prostrate face-down on a striped leopard-print mat with black fringe, arms stretched forward, wearing an orange blouse and sari, gold bangles and a gold necklace. Two shaved-headed devotees in orange robes prostrate face-down on the white cloth, with pink rose petals scattered before them. Behind them, standing and seated followers in orange robes watch; one holds up a small camera. A seated woman in white with a red bindi sits among them, and bare feet of onlookers in white and lavender are visible at the top. A bald man in saffron and glasses sits in the foreground, and a bearded man in orange sits beside him. Behind them a woman in a yellow sari with a dark green border sits among saffron-clad monks, and a woman in white with an orange shawl sits on the right near a table. In the foreground a young woman in an orange and white garment bows forward with her forehead to the mat, held by a person's hands. Pale mats and cloth cover the floor, and other seated figures in orange and white fill the background.2007-08-09December 30 20072007-12-30Outdoor riverside scene at a ghat beside water with marigold garlands floating at the edge.
