November 27 20062006-11-27A photograph of a procession walking barefoot along a paved temple courtyard past ornate pillars and a doorway. A central figure in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, with long dark hair and a wooden rudraksha mala around his neck, walks forward with eyes lowered; the appearance is consistent with a person candidate, though this is uncertain. Beside and behind him, a bearded man in white with an orange shawl and a second man in orange-saffron robes walk alongside, followed by devotees in white dhotis and bare-chested men wearing gold chains and sacred threads. A man in a white shirt bends forward at the lower right edge, and other attendants in white and orange stand in the background.2006-11-27A group walks along a covered temple veranda with tiled floor past a blue-walled shrine whose gold-framed entrance bears Tamil script. In the centre a man with long swept-back dark hair wears a saffron-orange robe and a rudraksha mala, carrying a small object and walking barefoot. Beside him a bearded man in a saffron shawl over white clothes walks with a white necklace visible. Behind them several bare-chested men in white dhotis and saffron wraps, a man in an orange shawl over a light robe, and men in white shirts and dhotis follow. Potted plants and palm trees line the right side. Several people are visible, including partially visible ones behind the front group.2006-11-27A photograph of an outdoor ashram courtyard with a paved hexagonal-tiled path and a red-and-white painted step edge at left. At front left, a long-haired person in a saffron-orange robe and rudraksha mala walks barefoot; the appearance cues (long swept hair, saffron robe, rudraksha beads) are distinctive, and the page does not name him here, so the identity is uncertain. Beside him, a bald man in white with an orange shawl and a barefoot man in white with an orange shawl walk along. Behind them a line of men in white dhotis and kurtas, many with hands folded in anjali, stand in greeting; an older man in a lavender dhoti and shirt and a younger man in white with a rudraksha mala stand among them. Small stone deity murtis and a garland-draped doorway are visible in the background of the ashram buildings.2010-07-01A photograph of a procession ascending a stepped platform decorated with white kolam rangoli patterns, under palm trees, with thatched-roof and tin-roof white buildings with red doors behind. In front, a man in a saffron-orange robe with a long dark rudraksha mala and a red-brown tilak walks with eyes lowered, hands folded at his waist, followed by men in white dhotis with yellow and orange shawls, one holding a walking stick. Behind them, more people in white clothes walk and stand, and a dark stone deity murti with an orange cloth stands at right. Smoke drifts at left and small figures in white move across the courtyard in the background. Physical people visible: about ten to fifteen.2010-07-07A photograph of a crowd in an outdoor temple courtyard, many people in white dhotis and shirts with orange shawls. In the centre, a long-haired man in an orange robe with a gold necklace walks forward; his appearance (long hair, orange robe, ornate gold necklace) is a person candidate, though the image is uncertain. A man in white kneels before him, while attendants in orange surround them. A black Nandi statue with flower offerings stands at left, and stone temple pillars frame the scene. Some people wear orange shawls and rudraksha malas, and a uniformed police officer stands at the right edge.2008-08-02Outdoor photo at a brick and concrete construction site beneath a palm-frond canopy. Around him, a younger man in white with an orange shawl, an elderly man in white with a white beard, and several saffron-robed sannyasis and devotees stand in attendance. In the foreground, a shaved-headed sannyasi in orange with rudraksha malas bends forward, and another kneels in orange and pink robes at the bottom edge. A man in a pink shirt stands at left, and a child in orange stands near the left edge.2012-09-24A group of men walks barefoot along a dirt lane beside an old stone temple wall in a South Indian village. In the centre, a man with long dark swept-back hair wears a saffron-orange robe draped over one shoulder and walks ahead of the others. Several men flank him in white dhotis and white shirts, some with orange shawls, rudraksha malas and shaved or white-marked foreheads. A tiled-roof house and a green-painted fence stand in the background.2006-09-18Outdoor photo of a procession on a paved hexagonal-tile path with a bare dirt ground behind it. In the centre a man in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl with a long rudraksha mala walks barefoot, hands folded in front of him. Beside and behind him are men in white kurtas and dhotis, some wearing yellow shawls and one holding a cane, along with a man in a white shirt and dhoti and several boys in casual clothes with hands joined in greeting. Stone statues stand in the background near a red-and-white painted border on the left.2010-07-19A photograph of a barefoot procession walking along a paved temple walkway past a tall tree trunk on the left. In the centre, a man with long, swept-back dark hair and a dark rudraksha mala wears an orange saffron robe; appearance-based candidate Swamiji (probable) walking at the front. Beside him, a bearded man in an orange-brown cloth, and behind them several men in white and saffron dhotis or robes, some bare-chested with sacred threads. On the left, men in white shirts and a woman in a yellow sari also walk. The colourful temple gateway with striped painted pillars and carved entrance is behind them, with a signboard visible on the right.2006-11-27June 05 20122012-06-05September 24 20122012-09-24
