A photograph of a ritual scene inside a plain hall with a white-painted wall and corrugated roof strung with orange pennants. In the foreground a long-haired man in an orange sleeveless garment and a red forehead mark smiles while holding a brass vessel and a white cord stretched toward a second person in an orange shirt on the right, who also holds the cord. Behind them stands a large white painted bull statue, a Nandi, draped with a golden-brown cloth and set on a blue-framed platform, with a tripod-mounted camera at the right edge. Small purple flowers and a green plant sit on a low white brick ledge. Two or three further people are partly visible in the background.2007-12-25Photograph of a homa or puja at a fire pit made of stacked stone blocks, with yellow and orange marigold garlands and green leaves on the altar. A figure in white robes with long dark hair, seen from behind, drapes a garland over a framed portrait of a saffron-robed man with flowing hair, placed on the altar. Beside them a woman in a blue shawl with hands joined in prayer and a man in white kurta sit on the floor, and an older woman in the background is also praying. A pink cloth, a brass vessel, a pink flower and marigolds sit on the altar. The portrait is a printed picture, not a physical person, and the framed image is a depiction.August 26 20072007-08-26July 17 20152015-07-17January 02 20122012-01-02December 19 20102010-12-19A seated woman in a rust-orange and maroon sari with a white jasmine garland and red flowers sits on a red cushioned chair, smiling and raising her hands in a blessing gesture.
