Two men in saffron-orange ceremonial dress stand before a shrine niche lit by a glowing orange arch of bulbs. The man on the right, seen from behind with bare shoulders and a saffron dhoti with gold borders, bends toward a gilded altar holding pink flowers, silver bowls and a gold ornamental piece. The man on the left wears an orange wrap with gold bands, a gold necklace, a rudraksha-bead armlet and a beaded headband, and stands with hands clasped, watching. A white cloth lies on the stone counter, and a patterned mat covers the floor. The scene reads as a temple puja.2012-05-13 +2 copiesInside a shrine with warm orange-lit walls and a gold-and-silver canopied altar, a shaved-headed man in saffron-orange dhoti with gold border, bare-chested, wears a rudraksha mala and gold necklaces, white sandalwood tilak and a red bindi, and holds his hand out toward the shrine. Beside him a younger man in orange cloth stands partly turned, and at right a man in white dhoti with gold-bordered shawl rings a brass bell over a garlanded deity murti decorated with white, pink and red flowers. Silver lamps and brass vessels sit on the altar, with pink petals on a tray. This appears to be a puja at the altar.2012-05-10May 09 20122012-05-09 +1 copiesMay 07 20122012-05-07 +1 copiesA temple puja in progress before a golden shrine niche with a small deity murti decorated with pink flowers and a gold kalasha-style ornament. An elderly man with a shaved head and white sandalwood markings on his arms and chest, wearing a rudraksha mala headband and rudraksha necklaces and bracelets, a gold necklace, and an orange-red dhoti with gold border, holds a small brass bell and performs the ritual, while a bare-chested attendant in a white dhoti stands at right holding a silver lamp stand, and a second orange-clad attendant with rudraksha bands on his arms stands at left. Lit oil lamps line the shrine arch. Appearance-based identity is not reliable enough here, so the elderly priest is described by role only.2012-05-13A photo inside a temple shrine with a white arched niche outlined by warm lights. Two men in orange-red ochre dhoti and shawl stand before a small golden shrine decorated with pink flowers and a silver kalasha. Both wear white garland necklaces and beaded headbands. The man on the left has a shaved head, bare upper body and is facing the shrine; the man on the right holds a silver pole-like ritual implement while standing beside him. Brass lamps and a golden vessel are visible.2012-04-29May 16 20122012-05-16 +1 copiesMay 13 20122012-05-13May 13 20122012-05-13 +1 copiesAugust 09 20102010-08-09May 09 20122012-05-09 +3 copiesPhoto of a temple shrine ritual inside a stone chamber with an arched niche lit by warm orange lights. In the centre, a golden shrine with a red flower garland surrounds a small deity murti, with a lit oil lamp in front and brass kalasha-style vessels on the altar. On the left, a man in orange-saffron garments and a crown-like beaded headband holds a rudraksha mala; he stands bare-chested with an orange dhoti and gold bangles, a figure whose appearance is uncertain for identification. Beside him stands a woman in orange robes and gold necklaces. On the right, a young man in white dhoti with gold border holds a brass vessel toward the shrine, and another man in white with gold-bordered shawl pours or handles a vessel at the edge of the frame. Four people are visible.2012-05-08
